Dreams of Playing in the WPT is Officially Over!

So much for making it to the big leagues… I’ve realized that my dream of making it to the WPT is officially over. I have lost more this year then I’ve won. Even in the NEPT, my stats have dropped. It has been over two years now since I first started to take Poker seriously, and after last night’s game at a friend’s house I realize that my game play has not improved.

Ok ok, maybe I won’t quit just yet, I did give myself 5 years to make it to the big leagues when I first started to play. I definitely need to work on my game play and study more. For those who I’ve played against, tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Watching those Poker pro\’s play on T.V. make me realize alot of things about the game.. It doesn\’t matter how good your hand might be, the flop, turn & river can determine the outcome of the hand being played.. The rivers always seem to hurt me the most.. Ofcourse that\’s not all true, big bet bluffs also contribute to that.. I just can\’t believe how some players can manipulate others with a crap hand of perhaps 7-3 off-suited by just making a risky big bet..

But seriously, I think you need to bluff a little more, that, or start playing your 2-3 suited, maybe even of-suited aswell..

Maybe a little more practice on Pokerstars or Party Poker couldn\’t hurt too.. Just stick to the play money though, i\’ve already lost quite abit playing with real cash..

Ofcourse, that\’s just my opinion, if you have money to throw around, why not start off with $50 & see if you can make it grow..

Speaking of money being thrown around, could you send some flying this way?.. I\’m abit short in Child Support this month, lol.. :P

Take it easy bud, holla at me next time there\’s a game..

Well my friend, quite impressive. It’s not that your a bad player, just had a lot of bad beats.. and trust me I know a lot of bad beats. Reminiscing of how I lost pocket aces and even pocket kings twice, just gives me the chills. Look at me for example, Maybe only 2 or 3 years of poker, and I’m not doing too bad… well I hope I’m not doing so bad, at least for a person who happens to be under the legal gambling age limit. You better keep your mouths shut. Just keep playing is all there is too it, you’ll have a lot of bad beats, but when you have that one hand with complete domminance, it’ll just rejuvinate your enthusiasm for poker.

And as for you Joel, don’t talk of being short of money at all, who claimed the money spot last tourney, and after his “collection” seemed to have $20 and $50 bills tied up with a rubber band. Quite suspicious if you ask me :P

Anyways take care til’ next poker tourney, I want in… I’ve been on a losing streak that has lasted quite too long.

    Christian,

After playing approximately 30-40 poker games with you over the course of the last year, I have come to the conclusion that you are not a bad poker player. Your only problem is the same problem many other amatuer poker players have (including myself) and that is lack of patience. Everytime we have a serious poker game you are always a contender for the win, however when we have the little 50-60 dollar games, you lose interest, and dont really care if you win.

If you played every game the way you do when big money is on the line, I am sure your winning percentage would increase dramatically.

Just a heads up — the NEPT final is coming up in the next month…so if you are going to quit…at least wait until after the tournament. You had good luck last year:)
