Top Ten Worst Halloween Costumes

10. Disney Characters - If you’re at the age where you are older than Snow White (The first full length animated movie released by Disney), then Disney costumes are not for you. It’s only cute when you were a child.

9. U.S. of A Vest - Yeah…. Not a very good costume if you ask me, unless you’re a Republican and is on your way to vote, for the best US President to ever lived (GWB). I would be careful wearing this costume as you may never know who might answer the door.

8. Can of Spam - Either you really love Spam to wear something like this or your Mama made you wear it.

7. Pet Costumes - I don’t care how cute it looks on your pet. Pets are not meant to be dressed up. They are not your toys or better yet your younger sibling.

6. Muscle Man - You’ll only wear something like this to compensate your insecurities of your pathetic manhood.

5. Ugly Drag - This costume is one of the worst I have ever seen. I don’t think it’s the costume itself that’s bad, just the person wearing it. If you plan on going drag, make sure it’s in good taste.

4. Village People - This was cool in the 80’s and 90’s, but one of the worst costumes to wear in the 21st Century.

3. Chicken Man - Not much to say. The costume speaks for itself.

2. Homemade Costumes - Homemade costumes are never good, unless you got a natural talent for it. If you plan on making one, you could at least put a little bit more effort into it.

And the number 1 Worst Costume of all time is…. Drum Roll Please……

1. Missing Arms - Not a very good costume, I can see his arms. Try making it more believable if you plan on making fun of the disabled. You might receive more sympathy candies.

That’s all Folks! Remember these are all Just for Laughs.

Microsoft Zune is no match for the Apple iPod

Apple’s iPod has dominated the digital music player since it was first introduced in October 2001; they currently have a hold of about 77% of the market share. With Microsoft getting ready to release their version called Zune, most says that it will not make a dent on the iPod and its market domination.

iPodMicrosoft Zune has features that can’t be found on the iPod such as wireless connection for easy music sharing or an FM radio, even with these features analyst says it is not compelling enough for most digital music buyers.

iPod’s success also has to do with its direct relationship with iTunes. iTunes recently enable the ability to purchase not only music videos, but also movies and television shows.

I’m a proud user of the Apple iPod for a few years now.  If you haven’t jump the band wagon yet, make sure you pick up an iPod today. (You’re welcome Apple)

Sony’s Vaio SZ Series Notebook - My Product Review

After a month of using Sony’s VGNSZ360 PC Vaio SZ Series Notebook, I can’t help but do a product review.  Here are my thoughts. (Note: I am not a techi)

Performance: High performance, system-efficiency, multiple intensive programs. The Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor gives you unprecedented levels of multitasking performance, all this using only 28% less power. What ever that means, just as long as my computer doesn’t freeze, crash, or take long to load, its all good.

Look/Design: Attractive and modern design. It’s just under 1 inch thick and less than 4 lbs, makes traveling light. The casing is carbon fiber-clad that gives it that sophisticated look, without losing it’s masculinity. It includes a 13.3” Widescreen XBRITE LCD, which is designed for maximize viewing. It has an anti-reflective coating that allows you to enjoy beautiful clear images from any angle. I no longer have to carry a brick around and when I pull this lap top out I get the “Ooohhh… Aaaahhhh” sounds from people and not the “Eeeewww”.

It also includes features such as integrated camera and microphone for easy web conferencing without the messy look of a webcam. G Sensor Shock Protection gives me the opportunity to throw it around and not worry about my hardware getting damage. (j/k I don’t throw it around, but you get my point). It also includes many features that I will not list, you can view the product’s features by visiting Sony.

My favorite feature of this awesome notebook is the Biometric Finger Print Sensor. This technology gives me the peace of mind that my files will be safe.  Unless of course someone else has the same finger print as me.

Although I think highly of the Sony VGZ SZ Series, I can’t help but make one negative comment. The battery! It’s advertise for up to 6 hours of battery life. It is far from that, unless of course you are only using Microsoft Word for 6 hours than that I can see lasting. But if you’re like me who multi task between various programs, than your lucky if you can stretch it up to 3 hours. I recommend that if you are going to purchase one to make sure you get the extended battery. To sum it all up, this is a good notebook, that is reliable, portable, and it looks good. I give it 8.5 out of 10.

You’re Never Too Old!

You’re never too old to do anything! This was clear to me when I decided to take skating lessons in October 2005. I have never ice skated before, but I have been interested in the sport for a number of years now. I have always been an avid sports fan, but skating was one of my favorite sports to watch. Maybe because I liked judge sports, but I also found the sport interesting because it combined both beauty and athleticism, and yes from my experience this sport is difficult. I’ve had my share of sprained wrists, ankles, almost a broken knee and bruises that seems to take forever to heal.

Anything I do or try to do I have little patience for. I wanted to learn and do things as soon as possible. Jumps, that normally will take a couple of years to learn, I learned in a couple of months. My approach was to not be afraid to do anything; I’ll fall and fall, but like life I will keep getting up. I ended the year with all the jumps except the axel. My spins are kind of weak, as well as my edges and basic skills, this is because I’ve never taken the time to learn them and practice them. I found that I focused a lot more on the jumps. Click here for a short video of my skating.

So when this season started, I wanted to set goals for myself, specifically I wanted to improve my edges and basic skills. But along with that I’ve included the following goals:

Jumps: Axel and in combination. Double Jumps
Spins: Forward/Back scratch, sit and camel spin

Footwork: Straight line/Circular footwork

Edges: Outside and Inside spread eagle

I know that I will never get to Olympic or World class level. That is not my goal. I am doing this as a personal choice and challenge. I love challenges. I also found that skating has taught me a lot of things that I can use off the ice (discipline, patience, foundation, control, technique). For those who complain that you’re too old to start anything, think again. The best years of your life are between the ages of 20 – 60.

Keep coming back for progress reports on my goals. I’ll also include videos soon.

The Magic of Thinking BIG

Think positive! How many times have you heard that during rough moments or challenges in life?  And how many times do you try to think positive, then it is quickly followed by negative thoughts?  What causes these thoughts?

Magic of Thinking BigI at times, had challenges with Positive vs. Negative and after reading The Magic of Thinking Big, by David J. Schwartz, it gave me a clear understanding of how the mind works.  It also provided helpful tools to train your mind.

This book shows you the secrets to acquire a successful life, both personally and professionally by focusing on a simple method, your way of thinking.  It may sound simple, but most would say that it is difficult to master especially during challenges.  I agree that the way you think determines who you are and where you can go. You’re only as big as your mind thinks it is.

For those seeking something more in their life, I recommend you read this book.  It will give you deep insights on acquiring a successful life by changing your way of thinking.

You’re my Hero NBC

Heroes

NBC finally got it right.  Heroes, is one of the hottest shows on TV today. If you think this show is about super heroes flying around in tights, then think again.  It is a series of ordinary people who discover that they have extraordinary abilities.  With Buffy, Angel and now Charmed gone, a show like this is long over due and thank god it is not by WB.

What I find very interesting about this show is how each character is equally interesting and has a story to tell, with a dark side and mystery behind it. The show begins with each Hero discovering their ability. You have a high school cheerleader who has the healing abilities of Wolverine and virtually indestructible. A cocaine addicted painter who paints the future, a male nurse who believes he can fly, a single mother who can project or has the ability to be in two places at once (not sure yet), an office worker from Japan who can stop time and travel through it and a Police Officer who can read minds.

Although the series just began, I can tell that it will be a hit. It is well plotted and keeps you wondering and anxious to watch the next episode.  This show is filled with big bucks special affects, gore like CSI and an outstanding cast that makes you believe.
