I Almost Had…

I am in the process of moving and while I was going through a lot of papers (just to let you know I hate to throw things out), I found this poem I wrote way back in the day, maybe four years old or more. Anyway as I read it, I really liked the flow of it; it’s more of an open mike type of poem. I figured I’d share it with all of you.
P.S. I know I haven’t posted in a while. I honestly am so busy and I need to find writers for the blog. Personally for me I prefer to be behind the scene, doing the marketing side of it.

I Almost Had…
At times I wonder if things could have been different,
Maybe I should have said a little more, or maybe a little less
Maybe I should have tried a little harder,
But for real man… I was doing my best.
I thought we had something real,
But I was a fool to think that we had a deal.
Maybe it’s not love, maybe it’s just you who I lust.
What I want from you, you could never give.
What you want in life, I could never conceive.
At times I front and say that it don’t bother me,
But for those of you who know, Damn if only you could see,
that each night I push you out of my head
And after all these years, I still cry in bed.
I’ll live life day by day, and trust in love to lead me the way
If I fail and don’t find what I want, I’ll look back and think of this love
… I almost had….
