Remembering Heath Ledger
I must of been one of the last people to hear that Heath Ledger past away. Like most people who were either fans of him or not, I was shocked to hear the news of the 28 year old Australian native actor.
I first seen Heath Ledger on the 1999 romantic teen comedy ’10 Things I Hate About You’, a modern day remake of the Shakespare play “The Taming of the Shrew”. It also stars, Julia Stiles and Gabrielle Union.
Heath Ledger’s acting career was really taking off after his Oscar nominated role in Brokeback Mountain. One of his latest film, that is yet to be released is the new Batman movie with Christian Bale called ‘The Dark Knight’, where he plays the Joker.
Amazing Race 12: The Final Three - Who Will Cross The Finish Line First?
The Emmy winning reality hit show is coming to an end this Sunday as the top three team’s race to the finish line for bragging rights and the cash prize of 1 Million dollars. If you would have asked me in the beginning who I thought would be in the final three of the Amazing Race 12, I definitely would have never guessed these three teams.
Ron and Christina - The father and daughter team, who’s relationship has been rough in the first half of the race. More so for Christina as she took constant abuse from her father Ron, who handles pressure by criticizing her daughter relentlessly and in a condescending matter. Still this duo believes that working out their personal relationship will help them move up the ranks. Unfortunately the same could not be said about Jenn and Nate, who were eliminated in fourth place last week. Christina’s patience of her father and Ron’s willing to try and become a better father, took them to the final three, their efforts in working together as a team has certainly paid off, finishing first place in the last two legs of the race.
Nicolas and Donald - The gramps and grandson, I never thought that these two would make it half way through the race, let alone the final three. Usually whenever there is a team member with a Senior Citizen Discount Card, the chances of going far is slim as each leg of the race is designed to challenge you both mentally and physically. Although Donald may be in good shape for his age, it was obvious that his grandson Nicolas carried a lot on his shoulder. I would also have to say that luck was on their side, despite narrowly escaping elimination many times, this team has pushed through to the final leg of the race.
Rachel and TK - The calm cool and collective team AKA as the ‘hippies’, came back big last week. They were three hours behind the rest of the team when they began the leg of the race. They also had a speed bump to tackle on. Their calm attitude, patience and excellent relationship took them to finish line in the final three, upsetting Jenn and Nate. I have never seen a team on Amazing Race history that handled pressure with such ease and patience. Even the best team looses it, but not TK and Rachel. If to win the Amazing Race requires you to work together, have patience, preserver and stay calm, than this team has it all to finish first this Sunday.
Who will win the Amazing Race 12? The preview from last week shows, one team misreading the clue, while another team breaks down. Who will cross the finish line first? My money goes to Rachel and TK. They are the youngest, fastest and most athletic team out of the three. But who knows, they could be the team that breads down. Tune in this Sunday to find out who will win The Amazing Race.
TV-Links.co.uk Is Back!
Tv-links.co.uk is one of the worlds highly visited website that provides video links to thousands of movies and TV shows. It’s also a great site to see some of your favorite classic movies or television series.
Unfortunately this highly popular website was shut down in October of 2007. The 26 year old man from Chelteham was also arrested and charged with “facilitation” of copyright infringement, even though he was not hosting the content but simply providing links to third party websites where the illegal content was hosted.
I’ll admit that I was a heavy visitor of the site. It allowed me to catch up on some of my favorite TV shows whenever I would miss them, it also allowed me to relive past favorite movies.
Fans cried and wonder when TV Links will make its return, or if it will ever return. Internet rumors floated around for months since it closed down, some says it will return while others doubt it. But no worries, there is good news…It’s back!

The Elusive Nintendo DS
Yes, this handheld console by Nintendo is no where to be found in the city of Winnipeg and its surrounding towns. I have never been big on gaming, the latest console I have is a PS2 and in today’s gaming standards, a PS2 is considered primitive. But recently I found the Nintendo DS entertaining and fun. It’s the latest handheld console by Nintendo and it’s definitely a step up from its cousin of the Game Boy Advance.
My search for the DS Lite began earlier this week, when I was at Wal-mart shopping for house products, I decided to purchase a DS Lite for the retail price of $139.00. Unfortunately the store was out of stock. I figured it wasn’t a big deal, as there were other locations and many stores in the city that sell the product.
I soon began to get the hint that finding this console might be a little difficult when I was at Best Buy and Future Shop, Canada’s largest electronic stores, all locations in the city were also sold out. I thought to myself, ok it looks like I should save my gas and began making phone calls first to inquire about the system.
So my search was mostly spent on the phone calling all the stores in the city that may sell the product. I contacted every single store in the city and even those that are located in small rural towns outside the city. It included the following:
2 Toy’s R US Locations, 4 Wal-Mart, 8 Real Canadian Superstores, 2 Best Buy, 4 Future Shop, 6 Zellers, 2 Hudson Bay Company, 6 Sears Department Stores, 3 EB Games stores, 10 Blockbuster, 10 Rogers Video, and 2 Costco…
After spending hours on the phone, and even calling stores twice just to make sure that they weren’t lying, it became clear that this console is no where to be found in the city. So I resulted in purchasing one online. Unfortunately my luck didn’t change; many online retailers such as Amazon.ca, BestBuy.ca, and Futureshop.ca were also sold out.
Fortunately I found some comfort when I landed on dsfanboy’s blog and his report on the shortage of the DS Lite and when they will make their return on store shelves. So it looks like this Nintendo DS may not be so elusive after all.

Survivor China just ended a few weeks ago, when Todd was crowned the winner as the sole survivor of the hit running reality tv show. The latest installment of Survivor kicks off on February 7, 2008. The twist in the latest season, are die hard fans of the show vs. favorite past survivor members.

I’m really looking forward to this Survivor. It’s always great to see your favorite players get a second chance at One Million Dollars. I’m also curious to see how the fans change their view on their favorite heroes.
The favorite survivor players have an advantage over the fans, as they’ve done this before. But the fans have the advantage as they’ve seen every single episode of survivor. Will they learn a thing or two from sitting on the couch and yelling at their Television? Who knows? For now I am banking on Yau-Man to win!
