MyBlogLog Free Stats: How Accurate Is It?
For those who are part of the MyBlogLog community, I’m sure you take advantage of their free stats. I have always been curious as to how accurate their stats are and what they actually mean.
If you are an expert when it comes to their stats, please break it down for me. What does “Readers†mean? Is it the number of unique visits? “Page Views” are exactly what it says, the number of views your site got. Right?
Anyway I ask because recently I hit a record breaking day. Never have I seen my “Readers” stats go over 200, and on this day it just went over 500. My ‘Page Views’ also hit a record high. So I wanted to ask all you MyBlogLog addicts. How accurate are their stats? Is it worth getting the MyBlogLog Pro version?

Community, Social and Personal Blogs: Where Are You?
My objective for the Peogles Blog was to create a blog that has a social and community feel with a hint of personal touch. I was hoping to connect with other Bloggers that have a similar approach with relevant and meaningful content. But In my recent quest, I seem to always find blogs that talk about nothing but blogs and blogging. This is obvious when you join communities like MyBlogLog and MDA. I swear if I land on another blog that talks about blogs and blogging, I am going to blog out. (Haha. I made that funny)
Although I appreciate the tips offered from these types of blogs, I cannot help but be annoyed at the lack of blog websites that actually have meaningful and thought provoking content. Isn’t a blog supposed to be considered a daily journal of your environment, observation, interest, and life in general? Whether it is about TV shows you love, movies, or music. Or if its humor that gets your heart going, or life journey questions that you often want answers to?
Community, Social and Personal Blogs: Where Are You?
Why can’t there be more blogs like Ms. Q, who gives us her personal point of view on her environment. She always has some thought provoking entries that gets the Q’s going. She is one of the few bloggers that can actually write (and writes well).
Why can’t there be more blogs about your personal point of view on the Political and World issues today, like the way Urban Thought spits his mind openly. Or get the latest Hip Hop News by Evorgleb on HighBrid Nation? Why can’t there be more blogs like Ricardo’s Unloaded blog, where it is described as “A man and his thoughts on the journey of life. This is where I come to unload. Always questions…, always learn….â€
Community, Social and Personal Blogs: Where Are You?
With that I am calling all Blogs that have a community, social and personal feel. I would like to connect with all of you out there so we can share our thoughts, environment and life in general. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and describe why your blog fits well with Peogles. Of course, in return you will receive a free link back with a follow up post on this entry. Don’t worry I won’t screw you over like what BlogPaul did to me when he broke his promise on a free link back for reviewing his blog. Despite that I still give him a link from this entry.
If your blog fits really well with Peogles you might make it into my Blog Roll List. There are however a few requirements.
- Your Blog’s main theme cannot be about Blogs or ‘How to Make Money Online’
- There should be more content on your blog than Ads.
- Have daily updates
That’s it, simple and easy. I’m not asking much. I am actually looking forward to seeing who will reply to this post. I hope that where ever you are, that you leave a comment and let the world know that you exist.
Let’s not be dominated by these blogs that talk about blogs. Personally I am sick of it seeing them.
My Top 5 Reasons Why I Dislike MyBlogLog
Here are my top 5 reasons why I dislike MyBlogLog. What are yours?

5. 99.9% of the blogs you visit are all about ‘blogging’ and ‘How to Make Money Online’
4. The avatars and description of the members MyBlogLog profile, are often misleading. Damn you spammers!
3. You can’t search profiles or blogs based on Tags – At least MDA offers this feature
2. Yahoo is watching your every move and online activity
1. I don’t like their logo and color scheme. It looks like grade school students built it
Response to Paul’s Challenge
I decided to respond to Paul’s challenge. He is challenging his readers to review his blog in order to receive a free linkback. So here I am. There are three criteria’s I use to measure whether or not I will come back or subscribe to a blog. And they are: content, design and frequent updates.
- Content is the most important factor in a successful blog. Paul’s blog provides you with valuable content from his personal point of view. I find his content original, universal, short and without the over use of links. I rate him 4 out of a possible 5 in this category.
- His layout is clean with a good color scheme which makes it easy on the eyes. The one flaw I dislike about his lay out is the menus, which are located at the bottom of the page. This can either be a good or bad strategy. I personally don’t like to scroll down to get a summary of his blog. I rate his design 3 out 5.
- Paul’s blog is consistent with updates. He roughly has an average of 3 posts per day, which is great for frequent viewing. Therefore I give him 4 out 5 in terms of frequent updates.
His total score is 11 out of a possible 15. Overall his blog is one that should be checked out and visited, as there is always something for everyone. I’m sure you will enjoy it as I have. So that is my review on blogpaul.com.
Now I’d like to turn this challenge over to my readers. Review my blog and you’ll also receive a free linkback, there are no criteria’s such as including links to my blog or post, I just want feedback on what you like and don’t like about the site. You can email me the url of your review at ce@peogles.com. I look forward to reading some of your thoughts.
