Apple iPhones Available Today!
Apple change the way we look at music players with their iPod series. Will they change the way we look at cell phones? The iPhone comes out today and only available with AT&T. This highly anticipated new gadget has some fans going crazy. Many predict that the iPhone will be out of stock very shortly and those who want one, may be waiting for a while.
I personally want an iPhone. But I might wait until the price goes down or if there are news or rumors of a new version in the works already. Who knows, we may soon find out that they are building an iPhone Nano
Man returns phone to carrier… without leaving car
Talk about an irate customer. This was from engadget.
Phone doesn’t work? Mad and have a 4,000 pound car? Good, just smash it through the front door and all your cell phone problems will be solved.

When we talk about phone use leading to traffic incidents, this is not typically what we mean. It seems a gentleman in Korea — we’ll simply call him “Kim,” since that’s the only name we have for him — got just a little upset when his shiny new Samsung handset still wasn’t working after sixteen calls and two in-store visits to carrier SK Telecom. What really set the dude off, though, was a SKT employee suggesting that the phone be replaced with a different model when the original was out of stock (what nerve!). Next thing you know, Kim’s chilling outside SK Telecom headquarters, filled with rage — and, oh yeah, a 4,000 pound Mercedes with “Delinquent SK” scrawled across it. Them’s fightin’ words, of course, and SKT tried to get him to skedaddle. The attempt backfired, though, when Kim skedaddled right through the building’s revolving doors. Lesson to carriers: do everything in your power to replace your customers’ defective phones after a maximum of fifteen support calls. Lesson to customers: if you aim for the glass instead of the door, you can probably make it into the building without as much damage to the front end.

Mobile Tips that can Save Lives, Time and Money
I receive this email from a friend. Normally I am not a fan of email forwards, but I found this one really interesting that I had to share it.
————————————————————————————————————————————-
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it.
ONE: The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112
If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.
TWO: Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other “remote” for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk). Editor’s Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a cell phone!”
THREE: Hidden Battery Power
Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.
FOUR: How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone’s serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 # A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won’t get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can’t use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
FIVE: Dial 411 for Free
Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don’t have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial: (800) FREE 411, or (800) 373-3411 without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.
Nintendo Wii, the Future of Video Gaming
I’m not much of a video gamer, the latest console I have is a PS2 which is collecting dust at the moment. Over the weekend I was at a friend’s house and I had the chance to try out the Wii, the new console by Nintendo.
Like others I was skeptical of this new system that Nintendo released. The thought of moving your body parts to control the game did not fit the traditional video gamer image. However, I was still intrigue in trying it out. I played games like Tennis and Bowling. It was awkward at first, but I soon felt comfortable, sometimes too comfortable where I actually felt that I was in a bowling lane trying to go for my third strike.
I love the interaction you have with this system. How it engages you to move your body, feel the tension, and increase your heart rate. Ugh. It reminds me of sex. Just kidding, seriously though, I enjoyed the Wii so much that I had to get one myself. Unfortunately, the city seems to be sold out of them.
Nintendo is one of the three largest manufactures of gaming consoles and according to analyst Nintendo’s Wii outsold Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in January.
With the Wii having superior interactive ability compared to its competitors and a much lower price, it is turning heads around the world; amongst those are the fat or lazy people. Some say it beats going to the gym, while others have claimed that they lost weight using Wii. Whatever the reasons are, I think Nintendo got this one right. They have given us a glimpse into the future of video games. I believe that it won’t be long before Microsoft and Sonny will follow its footsteps.
Chinese clinic treats teen internet addicts with hypnosis, shock therapy
Normally we don’t really like covering this whole theory of “internet addiction,” mainly because it makes us nervous about the 12+ hours we spend online each and every day, but a recent look by the Washington Post at one of those clinics for PC-lovin’ teens is interesting enough to warrant a mention. As we’ve seen before, China — never one of the more progressive countries when it comes to encouraging online participation — has followed several other East Asian countries in attempting to diagnose and cure netizens and gamers of their “unhealthy” dependence on computers, but what we didn’t know were some of the rather extreme methods used to achieve this. According to the Post, one clinic in the Beijing suburb of Daxing keeps some of its 12 to 17-year-old patients locked in rooms with barred windows for most of the day, treating them with a combination of counseling, medication, and military-style discipline. While some residents clearly have no need for such a facility — one young man who only surfed four to five hours a week said he came to Daxing to “get away from my parents” — there do seem to be more hardcore cases of lonely individuals spending all their free time online at the expense of their careers and social lives. At the Daxing clinic, these troubled teens whose “souls are gone to the online world” are housed together on the third floor of the building, where they are subjected to hypnosis and even mild shock therapy in an attempt to rid them of their love of surfing. It’s not really clear from the article what the success rate is for veterans of the clinic, but we imagine many of them find the conditions so distasteful that they swear off technology altogether simply for fear of being sent back. As for you, since no one will be sending you to internet rehab anytime soon, just continue reading all of the posts on this page while occasionally glancing over at and clicking on the bright, colorful ads.
